Putting jeans in a freezer does not reliably eliminate the bacteria on them. Ariel instead recommends laundering when needed, turning the denim inside out and using cold water with a detergent formulated for coloured clothing to help preserve the shade.

Drying should follow the garment's washing symbols. A towel provides a flat drying surface, while some jeans permit a brief tumble to recover shape. Removing dryer-safe denim while slightly damp can reduce creasing, but that option depends on the particular care label.
