Reading Laundry Care Symbols
Care symbols describe separate operations rather than one universal permission to wash. Start with the basic shape, then read any cross, line, dot, or temperature number that modifies it. A washable item can still require special drying or ironing, so review the complete label before deciding that it belongs with an ordinary laundry load.
Prepare the garments and solution
Ariel recommends sorting by color, fabric, and soil level before hand washing, just as for machine laundry. Check the care label and test uncertain dyes separately. Choose a detergent that dissolves properly and a water temperature compatible with the item, rather than assuming every delicate garment needs the same treatment.

Use gentle movement
The guide describes soaking and moving clothes through the solution without twisting them aggressively. Rinsing and removing excess water should also preserve the garment's shape. Hand washing is a method with its own limits, so a dry-clean-only instruction or a particularly fragile construction still needs to be respected.
