Understanding a 30-Degree Wash Limit
A number inside a wash-tub symbol should be read as part of the washing instruction, not as a recommendation for the dryer or iron. Temperature and wash action are different decisions. A cool cycle can still be unsuitable if its movement is too strong or the garment requires hand washing, so read the marks together.
Temperature is one part of cleaning
Ariel describes cleaning as a combination of water temperature, detergent, time, and mechanical action. Reducing heat makes the other parts of that system important, including a detergent designed for cooler washing. A cold wash is therefore not simply a hotter wash with every other setting ignored.

Check the garment's limit
The guide links lower temperatures with reduced energy use and less risk of some color and fabric damage. However, the care label still determines which treatment suits a particular item. A cool temperature does not turn a rough cycle into a delicate one, and washing instructions should be considered alongside stain treatment and load sorting.
