Treating Ink Marks on Fabric
Ink marks can differ with the type of pen, the fabric, and the garment's dye. A solvent or spot treatment should not be used merely because it is popular online. Check compatibility and test a hidden area where appropriate, then wash within the label's limits and inspect the result before moving to a heated drying stage.
Different inks can behave differently
Tide distinguishes water-based ink from oil-based ballpoint ink and describes solvent-assisted treatment for suitable clothing. Before applying a solvent more widely, test it on an inconspicuous area and check whether color transfers. A method that affects the garment's dye should not be continued merely because it can dissolve ink.

Blot, rinse, and wash carefully
The guide uses paper towel to help collect ink, followed by rinsing, detergent pretreatment, and a wash within the care-label limits. Check the result before drying, since heat can set a remaining mark. The fabric and the specific ink both influence the outcome, so a solvent is not a universal permission to treat every delicate textile.
